Industrial Believes in Giving Back to Our Community
While there are many worthy causes, Industrial Credit Union has identified three primary focus areas to help ensure our resources are used thoughtfully and effectively. These focus areas reflect our commitment to future generations, economic stability, and strong community connections. This list is not exhaustive, and all requests are evaluated individually.
Investing in Our Future
We support initiatives that foster the safety, security, and healthy development of Whatcom County’s future generations. These efforts aim to create strong foundations for children, youth, and families by addressing both immediate needs and long-term growth.
Examples include:
- Youth sports and recreational programs
- Extracurricular opportunities such as theater, music, and art
- Financial literacy education for youth and their parents or caregivers
- Programs that provide safe, supportive spaces for learning, growth, and development
- Food and housing security initiatives
- Efforts that promote overall well-being, safety, and stability for families and young people
Industry and Local Jobs
We invest in programs and events that strengthen the local economy by supporting small businesses, local industries, and workforce development. These initiatives help create financial security and economic resilience within our community.
Examples include:
- Events and programs that support small businesses and local entrepreneur
- Initiatives that promote or strengthen local industries
- Workforce development and job training programs
- Financial assistance resources that help individuals and families achieve economic stability
- Efforts that contribute to sustainable local employment and economic growth
Community Growth
We believe strong communities are built when people have opportunities to connect, gather, and build relationships in safe and welcoming environments. We support affordable or free events and programs that bring our community together and foster a sense of belonging.
Examples include:
- Community events that are free or low-cost and accessible to all
- Activities that provide safe, fun environments for families, friends, and neighbors
- Programs that encourage community connection, inclusion, and relationship-building
- Events that celebrate local culture, creativity, and community pride
